On September 18, Ali Asadov, the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, visited Kyrgyzstan for the OTS heads of government meeting, highlighting $21 billion in Azerbaijani investments, trade growth, regional connectivity, and proposals to enhance cooperation among Turkic States. At Manas Airport, Asadov was welcomed by Bakyt Torobayev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

During the meeting of OTS government leaders in Bishkek, Asadov stated that Azerbaijan’s investments in OTS countries are approaching $21 billion and highlighted that trade with member states had increased by over 8% between January and July 2025. He noted, "The volume of investments Azerbaijan has made in OTS countries is approaching $21 billion. With several partners, we have established joint investment funds, facilitating mutual investments in priority economic sectors."

Asadov also emphasized expanding cooperation in the transport sector and strengthening regional connectivity, noting the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor and recent agreements in Washington enabling direct transport links between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He added that the opening of the Zangezur Corridor would provide new economic and transit opportunities and increase the throughput capacity of the Middle Corridor.

The meeting in Bishkek brought together Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Kyrgyz Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, and OTS Secretary-General Kubanychbek Omuraliev. Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev welcomed the delegations, and a group photo session followed.

During the meeting, Asadov highlighted the 15th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Agreement as the foundation for the OTS’s development. He stressed the need for closer cooperation and swift decision-making to address global challenges, emphasizing that shared history, culture, and language have enabled multilateral collaboration. He added, "Our organization operates on many fronts. Its geographic scope, natural resource potential, and human capital make the OTS a structure of strategic significance on the international stage. As President Ilham Aliyev said, the Organization of Turkic States is our primary international organization because it is our family. We fully support the growth of its political and economic influence, both regionally and globally. Azerbaijan has established strategic partnerships or allied relations bilaterally with all OTS member states."

Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev proposed adopting a roadmap to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, and finance among OTS member states. He stated, "In order to develop our economic cooperation more systematically, Kyrgyzstan has proposed a draft roadmap focused on collaboration in trade, investment, and finance," urging support for the initiative. He also underscored the roles of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the OTS Trade Facilitation Committee in removing trade barriers, supporting businesses, and boosting overall economic activity.
