Armenia and Iran to Launch Joint Enterprises, Expand Trade Links
Armenia and Iran agreed to establish joint production enterprises and factories in both countries, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Atabak announced in Moscow, responding to a question from an Armenpress correspondent.
Atabak highlighted growing cooperation between Yerevan and Tehran, particularly under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
“Our country has very good relations with the Republic of Armenia. The volume of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is gradually increasing. During our recent visit with President Masoud Pezeshkian, we discussed all areas of cooperation: production, trade, supply of goods, and mineral development. We also talked about mutual investments, production projects, and expanding sales opportunities in the markets,” Atabak said.
He underlined that both sides see “great potential for further collaboration.”
On September 24, the first joint committee meeting for implementing the Iran–EAEU Free Trade Agreement was held in Moscow. The agenda focused on eliminating quantitative restrictions and technical barriers to imports, digitalizing trade, and advancing the “North-South” international transport corridor, among other areas of mutual interest.
