Armenia’s Leaders Meet EU Ambassadors to Discuss Visa Liberalization, Peace Agreements, And Regional Projects
On November 10–11, Armenian officials, including Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan, and President Vahagn Khachaturyan, met with EU ambassadors to discuss bilateral cooperation, the Visa Liberalization Action Plan, upcoming summits, Armenia-Azerbaijan agreements, and regional projects like TRIPP.
Meeting with Vahan Kostanyan
On November 10, Vahan Kostanyan, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, received the Head of the EU Delegation and the Heads of diplomatic missions of EU member states accredited in Armenia. During the meeting, the parties discussed a broad range of issues concerning the growing bilateral agenda between Armenia and the EU, as well as its member states. Particular attention was given to developments within the Armenia-EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan, with an emphasis on its swift implementation.
The attendees were also briefed on key details regarding the upcoming 8th Summit of the European Political Community (EPC), scheduled to take place in Yerevan next year. Armenia’s dedication to inclusiveness by extending invitations to all member states of the European Political Community was emphasized. The discussion further covered the agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8 and touched upon the ongoing process of normalizing Armenia-Türkiye relations.
Meeting with Nikol Pashinyan
On November 11, Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, met with the ambassadors of EU member states accredited to Armenia. The meeting was attended by Vassilis Maragos, the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia. During the discussions, Pashinyan and the ambassadors addressed the current state of Armenia-EU relations, recent progress, and prospects for deeper cooperation.
They exchanged views on the regional situation following the Peace Summit in Washington on August 8, the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and initiatives to unblock regional communication routes, including the TRIPP and "Crossroads of Peace" projects. Prime Minister Pashinyan also responded to the ambassadors’ questions.
Meeting with Vahagn Khachaturyan
On the same day, Vahagn Khachaturyan, the President of the Republic of Armenia, met with the ambassadors of EU member states accredited to Armenia. During the meeting, the discussion focused on the further development of Armenia-EU relations and opportunities to expand cooperation. The President touched upon the country’s domestic and foreign policy priorities, presented key achievements from the past year, outlined upcoming programs, and responded to the ambassadors’ questions.
