Azerbaijan Allocates $7.6 Million Humanitarian Assistance to Ukraine

On July 17, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to allocate funds to the Energy Ministry of the republic to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
The document said that based on the principles of humanism, Azerbaijan provides humanitarian assistance to many countries on a bilateral and multilateral basis. As per the order, $7.6 million has been designated from the president's reserve fund in the 2023 state budget of Azerbaijan. This allocation is specifically intended to support humanitarian aid efforts by providing funding for purchasing and transporting electrical equipment through the Ministry of Energy.
The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan was instructed to provide financing in the amount indicated in the presidential decree, and the Cabinet of Ministers of the country was instructed to resolve issues arising from this decision.
Notably, Aliyev’s order regarding the allocation of another humanitarian aid to the authorities in Kyiv became known on the day there was an attempt to undermine one of the pillars of the Crimean bridge as a result of an attack.
