Azerbaijan Protests Polish President Duda's Visit to Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Region

On November 28, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry lodged a formal protest against Polish President Andrzej Duda's visit to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border region, accompanied by members of the European Union Mission to Armenia (EUMA).
Michal Greczylo, the Polish Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan, was summoned to the ministry to address the matter. Azerbaijani officials expressed their objection to President Duda’s presence near the village of Kerki, which they described as “still under Armenian occupation.” The ministry also criticized his participation in what was characterized as “anti-Azerbaijani propaganda” alongside EUMA representatives.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reiterated its longstanding concerns about EUMA's activities, accusing the mission of being misused as a tool against Azerbaijan. It claimed that EUMA had deviated from its stated purpose of fostering regional stability and building confidence between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Additionally, the ministry stressed that this incident ran counter to the spirit of Azerbaijani-Polish relations. It urged Poland and other parties involved to refrain from actions that could undermine Azerbaijan’s legitimate security interests and regional peace efforts.
