Azerbaijan Refutes Armenia's Claims on Territorial Integrity

On February 9, Elchin Amirbayov, the Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Special Assignments, denounced Armenia's persistent encroachments on Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
Amirbayov asserted that Azerbaijan and Armenia possess the maturity and capability to address their remaining issues bilaterally. He dismissed claims of Azerbaijan's territorial ambitions against Armenia, labeling them as baseless and an attempt to deflect blame. Amirbayov cited Armenia's constitution and its reference to the "reunification" of the Armenian SSR with Nagorno-Karabakh as evidence of Armenia's provocative actions.
Regarding recent statements by Josep Borrell, the head of European diplomacy, Amirbayov dismissed accusations against Azerbaijan and emphasized the need for concrete actions from Armenia to address concerns raised by Azerbaijan. He criticized Armenia's official stance, as reflected on its Foreign Ministry's website, which portrays the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan as part of historical Armenia.
Amirbayov highlighted Armenia's failure to address Azerbaijan's concerns and criticized the deliberate spread of rumors about an imminent threat from Azerbaijan. He characterized such actions as futile and emphasized the need for constructive dialogue and genuine efforts to resolve the longstanding issues between the two countries.
