Azerbaijan Seeks Full Membership in BRICS

On July 11, during the plenary session of the 10th Parliamentary Forum of BRICS countries, Speaker of the 6th convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, announced Azerbaijan's aspiration to become a full member of BRICS.
"Azerbaijan promotes dialogue, cooperation, and solidarity in its foreign policy. This applies to bilateral relations and activities within international platforms. Specifically, this pertains to cooperation with BRICS. Azerbaijan has already expressed its desire to join BRICS," Gafarova stated.
Gafarova emphasized that developing cooperation at the parliamentary level would help achieve this goal.
Notably, BRICS is a group of five countries. This group includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. BRICS members characterize themselves as the fastest-growing large countries. Thus, Brazil is rich in agricultural products, Russia is the world's largest exporter of mineral resources, India has cheap intellectual resources, China has cheap labor resources, and the Republic of South Africa has natural resources.
