
Azerbaijani Navy Conduct Tactical Exercises in Caspian Sea

On May 22, the Azerbaijani Navy conducted tactical exercises in the Caspian Sea, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
According to the Ministry of Defense, in accordance with the training plan, the ships left the base station with an alarm signal. They performed practical activities on the execution of combat tasks for the protection and defense of energy infrastructures in the sector of the Caspian Sea belonging to Azerbaijan.
The units of the Navy carried out tasks on the destruction of terrorist-sabotage groups at sea and the organization of underwater anti-sabotage defense.
It is stated in the information that during the execution of tasks for the assignment of tactical groups of ships in various conditions, the HDQ personnel demonstrated high professionalism in training aimed at improving the skills of commanders and staff on the development of joint activities with naval commandos, organization of combat activities, and management of forces in combat.
Notably, Azerbaijan has actively sought to develop and strengthen its maritime capabilities through international cooperation. It has engaged in joint military exercises, training programs, and information sharing with neighboring countries and other partners to enhance maritime security and foster regional stability. In recent years, Azerbaijan has taken steps to modernize its naval forces. To improve its operational capabilities, it has acquired new vessels, including advanced missile boats, patrol craft, and diving support ships. Additionally, the Azerbaijani Navy has received training and support from countries such as Turkey and Israel to enhance its naval readiness.
