Azerbaijan's President Warns Armenia: Recognize Our Strength or Regret

During a ceremony on May 10 to present apartment keys to the first returning residents of Shusha, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reflected on his interviews with foreign media during the Second Karabakh War, emphasizing that he couldn't divulge strategic plans but hinted at the importance of liberating Shusha.
Describing Shusha as a “symbol of Azerbaijani resilience”, Aliyev underscored its significance in the successful outcome of the war. President Aliyev highlighted the ongoing large-scale programs in all deoccupied territories, noting that Shusha marked the sixth residential area where former IDPs were returning. He mentioned the imminent return of former IDPs to the village of Sus in Lachin, aiming to revitalize at least 20 residential areas by the year's end.
President Aliyev warned Armenia and its backers of potential regrets if they would fail to acknowledge Azerbaijan's strength and position. He highlighted the peaceful return of lands in the Gazakh border district, emphasizing Azerbaijan's control over the delimitation and demarcation process.
President Aliyev also commented on the recent visit of the US ambassador to Shusha, stating, "Any ambassador's visit to Shusha should not be presented to us as a form of gratitude. Whether it comes or not, it's not necessary. As if something changes by whether they come or not, nothing changes. Here, in this land, we have a say. Our policy is based on international law and justice." He emphasized, "Not a single step should be taken here without settling with us." President Aliyev expressed confidence that his words are heard and that his actions align with his statements.
