Bidzina Ivanishvili Returns to Politics

On December 30, Bidzina Ivanishvili, the Georgian Dream founder, formally returned to politics. Ivanishvili was elected honorary chairman of the "Georgian Dream" Congress. About 350 delegates attended the congress.
"The only thing I could not count on was the betrayal of the country and the team, which was committed by Giorgi Gakharia one month after I distanced myself from politics," Ivanishvili added. "For the first time, in 2018, I had to turn to politics. I recall the words of the former ambassador of the European Union, the ambassador with whom I was friends with family, who told me that if I did not return for a month, nothing would be left of the ruling party," he noted.
"I knew this very well, but from what the ambassador said, I understood that what I saw and assessed looked good from the outside. Then, I fulfilled my mission, we organized the team from the beginning, we set up the system, and after that, I left politics for the second time, I had to retire, and I had a good reason. The only thing I could not count on was the betrayal of the country and the team, which was caught by Giorgi Gakharia one month after I distanced myself from politics. Then, I had to act as an advisor to the shippers, and if I hadn't helped the team with consultations, the processes would have developed in the most difficult scenario for the country. Since then, I communicated with 2-3 leaders of the party, which helped to maintain a healthy situation in the team. Advising the team by the former leader of the party is a common occurrence, it happened and is happening in many democratic countries," the Georgian politician emphasized.
Moreover, Bidzina Ivanishvili, the Honorary Chairman of Georgian Dream, said he will not run for the prime minister's office. "I will not be a candidate for the position of Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will not change," Ivanishvili added.
