Papikyan Delivers Welcome Speech at NATO Parliamentary Assembly Seminar 

On September 22, Suren Papikyan, the Armenian Defense Minister, participated in the 108th Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in Armenia. During the seminar, titled "Armenia and the South Caucasus in a Changing World: Strengthening Democracy and Regional Security," he delivered a welcome speech.

Karen Brutyan Participates in NATO Days in Ostrava 

On September 22, Armenian Deputy Minister of Defense Karen Brutyan took part in the "NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days" event, which was held from September 20–21 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Armenian Defense Ministry Addresses False Media Reports 

On September 26, the Armenian Defense Ministry stated that information circulating on a newly created website and in several Azerbaijani media outlets, falsely attributed to the Armenian Minister of Defense, was absurd and completely detached from reality. The Ministry noted that the source of this material and related data had been forwarded to the Armenian National Security Service for further action and announced that it would take appropriate measures, including the potential suspension of accreditation, against Armenian media outlets accredited by the Ministry that spread false or defamatory content.

Azerbaijan

Colonel General Visits Belarus to Strengthen Military Cooperation, Participate in CIS Chiefs of Staff Meeting, and Honor Azerbaijani National Hero 

On September 22, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, began a working visit to Belarus at the invitation of Major General Pavel Muraveiko, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus. During his visit, Valiyev held one-on-one and expanded-format meetings with Muraveiko to discuss the prospects for expanding bilateral military cooperation and regional security, as well as to exchange views on issues of mutual interest. He also visited the grave of Azerbaijani National Hero Major Anatoliy Davidovich in Slutsk and met with his mother, Kima Davidovich, emphasizing that the Major’s heroism had strengthened Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations. On September 24, Colonel General Valiyev participated in the meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of CIS member states, held in Minsk.

Foreign Military Attaches Visit Heydar Aliyev Military Institute 

On September 23, military attaches of foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan conducted a familiarization visit to the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute, in accordance with the annual activity plan approved by Zakir Hasanov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense. During the visit, the attaches laid flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and toured the Memorial Complex of Martyrs of the Patriotic War. Representatives from 17 countries were briefed on the institute’s training programs and facilities and visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum, where they reviewed a photographic gallery highlighting Aliyev’s contributions to Azerbaijan’s military development. The attaches expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Defense for organizing the visit.

International Exercise 

On September 24, Maharat-2025, a computer-assisted joint command-staff exercise, was held in Tashkent to enhance cooperation and interoperability between the two countries' servicemen. During the exercise at the Modeling and Simulation Research Educational Center of the Armed Forces, participants focused on the topic "Search for, localization, and neutralization of illegal armed detachments." The exercise was conducted in two stages: in the first stage, participants carried out operational planning, and in the second stage, they executed relevant activities using modeling and simulation software. Maharat-2025 aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, improve interoperability between their servicemen, and facilitate the exchange of experience.
