Chechnya's Leader Warns Diaspora Against "Provocateurs"

On April 11, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, called on Chechens outside the country not to be deceived by provocateurs trying to bring discord into Chechen society.
"We all remember how, under the pretext of a war in Syria, promising gazavat [the holy war against the infidels to spread Islam], our people were recruited. What kind of gazavat is this when you are trained on NATO bases and turned against Muslims? Turning to our compatriots, I want to say: be careful and beware of blindly following those trying to deceive you," Kadyrov added.
He also stressed that there are opportunities for realization in various fields for those who wish to return and work in their homeland in Chechnya. "For those who really want to work, we have all the conditions. People of different nationalities come to our region to find a job. Therefore, of course, it is better to return to your republic, get a good education, and live in the land of your ancestors, and not where they don’t even know what adapts and customs are," the head of the republic concluded.
