Data Shows Kyrgyzstan As Top Export Partner and Turkey As Leading Import Source For Georgia
On July 21, Geostat, the National Statistics Service of Georgia, reported on the country's foreign trade from January to June 2025, identifying Kyrgyzstan as Georgia’s largest export partner and Turkey as its largest import partner. According to preliminary data, the top ten export destinations accounted for 79.8% of Georgia’s total exports during this period. Kyrgyzstan ranked first with $681.3 million in exports, followed by Kazakhstan with $414.0 million, and Azerbaijan with $341.8 million. Regarding imports, the top ten trading partners made up 71.7% of the total, with Turkey leading at $1,294.8 million, followed closely by the United States at $1,283.2 million, and Russia ranking third with $950.5 million.
In terms of goods, passenger cars were the leading export category with $1,217.1 million, comprising 37.6% of all exports. Precious metal ores and concentrates followed at $174.6 million, while alcoholic beverages ranked third with $123.2 million. As for imports, passenger cars also topped the list with $1,662.6 million, representing 19.1% of the total import volume. Oil and oil products came second at $601.9 million, and hand-made artworks such as paintings, drawings, and pastels were third with $481.2 million.
