Drones Banned in North Ossetia

On January 10, North Ossetia banned the use of unmanned civil aircraft in the region. Sergey Menyaylo, the head of the federal republic, signed the decree.
The ban on the use of drones was introduced in connection with the operation of the basic alert regime in the region. The measure will not apply to federal government agencies, government agencies of the republic, local governments, organizations fulfilling the state defense order, or organizations in the fuel and energy complex.
Ensuring the ban is entrusted to the Committee on Transport and Road Infrastructure of North Ossetia in cooperation with the Southern Interregional Directorate of the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia.
The basic readiness regime has been in effect in most regions of Russia since October, when the decree of the Russian president was issued. In 18 regions, a high-alert mode was introduced; in eight, a medium-level response mode.
