
EU-Azerbaijan Oil Trade Flourishes, Marking a 73.7% Yearly Increase

In January 2024, European Union countries exported approximately 2,000 tons of oil products to Azerbaijan, marking a significant increase of 2.4 times compared to the same period in 2023.
The exports surged twofold to approximately EUR 4.5 million in terms of monetary value. Among the top three largest suppliers of oil products to Azerbaijan in January 2024 was Greece, which exported 754 tons (a remarkable increase of 31 times year-on-year) valued at €0.5 million (up 23 times). Germany followed with 457 tons (an increase of 51.1%), amounting to €1.9 million (up 75.3%), and the Netherlands with 155 tons (up 8.1 times) valued at €0.5 million (up 7.1 times).
Furthermore, according to updated Eurostat data, in 2023, EU countries witnessed a substantial increase in oil product exports to Azerbaijan, rising by 73.7% compared to 2022, reaching approximately 24.4 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the exports surged by 62.7% to €58.2 million.
