
EU Special Representative on Working Visit to Armenia

On June 6, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Crisis in Georgia, the Press Office of the Armenian Prime Minister reported.
The interlocutors discussed the agreements' implementation in the trilateral and five-sided meetings held in Brussels and Chişinău.
"Reference was made to the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the humanitarian crisis in the Nagorno-Karabakh resulted from Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, the issues related to addressing the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh under the internationally guaranteed dialogue mechanism," the report added.
On the same day, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, the Press Office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
The interlocutors discussed issues of regional security and stability. In this context, the recent discussions on the normalization process of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan were touched upon. The importance of continuing the process without bellicose rhetoric and in an environment free from the threat of using force was underlined.
"Reaffirming the commitment of the Armenian side to establishing lasting peace in the region, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of maintaining the mutual commitment to addressing the existing key issues with the aim of a comprehensive settlement and the continuous efforts of international partners in that direction," the information said.
