Georgia Can Rely on NATO for Membership Advancement, says German Ambassador

On July 18, Peter Fischer, the German Ambassador to Georgia, said that Georgia could rely on NATO to advance the process that would eventually lead to Georgia joining NATO.
According to Fischer, strong statements in support of Georgia were also made at the Vilnius summit. "A very strong statement supporting Georgia was made at the Vilnius summit. Georgia can count on NATO to move forward in the process that will lead Georgia to NATO membership at a certain point," he said.
According to Peter Fischer, some of the European Union's 12 goals have already been achieved, while others still require improvement. "Some priorities have been completed, others are on their approach to completion, while others require further development. Together with Georgia, we will go along this route. We support Georgia's aim, which is tied to entering the European Union," the Ambassador added.
