Georgia Confirms Delivery of French Armored Vehicles to Armenia

Georgia's Poti port administration confirmed that a "specific cargo" was delivered to Armenia via Georgia: "We would like to emphasize that in this particular case, the cargo came from the EU country - France and was directed to Armenia - a country that is not sanctioned. In addition, in the absence of clear instructions from the Georgian government and restrictions imposed by international regulators, APM Terminals Poti, a multipurpose port in Georgia and the region, lacks the opportunity to unreasonably refuse to accept cargo that is not sanctioned".
In September, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia's security dependence on only one country, namely Russia, was a “strategic mistake.”
On November 12, the Azerbaijani website Caliber.az (associated with the Azerbaijani government) reported, the French military equipment intended for Armenia, namely Bastion armored personnel carriers, was delivered through Georgia.
According to the publication, on November 12, the French multipurpose armored vehicle Bastion manufactured by Acmat and its components entered the Georgia port of Poti. The publication also claims that the French company ARQUUS is the sender of the equipment.
Moreover, on November 8, the media reported that Armenia had signed a contract with India to purchase the ZADS (Zen Anti-Drone System) anti-drone system worth $41.5 million. In September 2022, the Indian edition of The Economic Times reported that Yerevan will receive $244.7 million worth of weapons and ammunition, including the Pinaka missile system, from Delhi.
