
Georgia Modernizes Aviation Fleet

On August 26, the Georgian Defense Ministry reported that strengthening the military aviation of the Defense Forces and rehabilitation-rehabilitation and modernization of existing flying equipment is actively underway.
"One more refurbished SU-25 has been added to the aviation fleet. Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze was in Marneuli at the base of the Joint Aviation Squadron and got acquainted with the process of developing aviation equipment. The Minister of Defense also observed the training process and joined the test flight of the updated aircraft in pairs. Alongside the Minister of Defense, Deputy Commander of Defense Forces Major General John Tatunashvili and Aviation and Air Defense Colonel Sergo Ninua were also present at the base of the Joint Aviation Squadron," the report added.
"With the joint efforts of SSTC "Delta" and SS "Tam" Tbilaviamshen, as a result of the work performed by Georgian specialists, seven units of SU-25 type aircraft have already been held. Also, the repair of three units of L-39 type training-fighter aircraft is underway," the information said.
At the same time, pilots and technical staff undergo training according to qualifications and specialties.
