Humanitarian Aid to Armenia Increases by 4 Times in 2024
In the first ten months of 2024, Armenia received $84.2 million in humanitarian aid, marking a 4.2-fold increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to country’s the Statistical Committee.
The majority of the aid consisted of products from the chemical and related industries, valued at $63.4 million - a 5.2-fold increase from the previous year. Other significant contributions included non-precious metals and articles from them, transportation means (land, air, and water), machinery, equipment, and mechanisms.
The United States provided the largest share of aid, amounting to $44.6 million (53% of the total). Germany ranked second with $8.2 million (9.7%), followed by France with $3.7 million (4.4%). Other countries contributing humanitarian aid to Armenia included Switzerland, China, Italy, and India.
