Hungarian PM and Azerbaijani Economy Minister Discuss Energy Security

On September 11, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov discussed energy cooperation.
Zoltán Kovács, the head of the Press Service of the Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary, said that the main issue among the topics discussed was the need for the Azerbaijani energy company to start operations in Hungarian gas reservoirs, which is a step aimed at strengthening energy security and cooperation between the two countries. Kovács noted that the discussions related to the successful expansion of the activities of Hungarian companies in Azerbaijan show that the economic partnership between the two countries is increasing.
"Also, they discussed the successful expansion of Hungarian companies in Azerbaijan and potential Hungarian investment in the future. An Azerbaijani city has been identified for the participation of Hungarian companies in the construction process in the field of reconstruction of Karabakh," he said.
It was noted at the meeting that Hungary offers 200 scholarships to Azerbaijani students to study in Hungary every year.
