Ilham Aliyev Highlights Expanding Azerbaijan-Israel Relations
On August 18, Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received the credentials of Ronen Krausz, the incoming Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Ambassador Krausz presented his credentials, after which President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan-Israel relations were expanding year by year across various fields. He expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation and confidence that friendly ties would deepen further in the future. The President highlighted the wide opportunities available for bilateral cooperation and noted that the ambassador’s arrival coincided with a historic period marked by progress in the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, supported by the United States. Aliyev stressed that these developments were significant for ensuring peace and security in the region, opening new opportunities for connectivity and broader interaction in the South Caucasus. He also expressed hope that Israeli companies would continue to operate actively in Azerbaijan, wishing the ambassador success in his mission.
Ambassador Krausz expressed his honor in presenting his credentials and highlighted his happiness at returning to Baku, recalling his diplomatic service in Azerbaijan from 2010 to 2015. He emphasized the strategic nature of Israel-Azerbaijan relations, underlining the genuine friendship between the leaders and peoples of both countries. Krausz also conveyed his gratitude for the attention shown to the Jewish community in Azerbaijan, noting his visits to the Krasnaya Sloboda settlement in Guba, where he became acquainted with the conditions created for the Jewish population.
