Jens Stoltenberg: "We Saw War Coming; Brutality in Grozny, Invasion of Georgia, and Then War in Ukraine"

On January 5, at the Annual Conference of the Norwegian Confederation of Enterprises (NHO), NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, "Today, the new reality is most obvious via President Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine."
The head of NATO stated, "We saw this conflict coming. It fits with a trend where Moscow uses force to further its political objectives."
"The invasion of Georgia, the violence in Grozny, Aleppo has been bombed. And the conflict in Ukraine did not start in February last year. It began in 2014 with Russia's annexation of Crimea and the assaults in eastern Ukraine," Stoltenberg added. "We must realize that the security situation in Europe has irrevocably altered, regardless of when or how this conflict ends," he continued.
"The Moscow government desires a different Europe. It sees democracy and freedom as a danger and aspires to rule over its neighbors. As a result, Russia and the West are in a state of perpetual confrontation. As a result, even after the conflict is over, we will still have issues with Russia," the NATO Secretary General emphasized.
