Kremlin Denies Involvement in Alleged Coup Plot in Armenia

On September 9, Grigory Karasin, the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, said that the allegations about the Kremlin's preparation of a coup d'état in Armenia, published in Telegram channels close to Yerevan are nonsense and should not even be commented on.
According to the Russian senator, it is necessary to bring real facts to confirm the information before making such statements and accusations. "Making up some virtual schemes and shouting about it to the whole world is the destiny of unintelligent politicians. Such statements are spread to provoke hostility towards Russia. This is necessary for those who are trying to shake up the situation and achieve their goals," Karasin noted.
Earlier, the Baghramyan-26 Telegram channel, considered a pro-government Armenian resource, reported that the Kremlin is allegedly preparing a coup d'état in Armenia. It was said that this mission should be carried out by 3000 fighters of PMC "Wagner," who were in Armenia at the time of Yevgeny Prigozhin's death. It was claimed that their goal was to remove Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from power, and the authorization for this was received in Moscow.
