Kremlin Responds to Armenian-British Military Deal, Affirms Strong Ties with Yerevan

On November 28, Yerevan and London signed the Armenian-British defense cooperation program for 2023-2024 in London.
On November 30, commenting on the recently signed military cooperation agreement, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Armenia is a sovereign country, and Moscow considers Yerevan an ally.
"Armenia is a sovereign country which develops bilateral relations with those states with which it considers appropriate. We have our relations with Armenia. And, of course, Armenia is a friendly country, it is our ally," the Kremlin spokesman noted, "The development of allied relations with Yerevan will continue," Peskov assured.
As previously reported by Caucasus Watch, on November 29, a Russian government agency officially confirmed the blockage of the import of many food products from Armenia, citing concerns about food safety. This move comes as Yerevan’s geopolitical rifts with Moscow continue to intensify.
