Nikol Pashinyan Addresses Armenia's Difficult Relations with CSTO

Speaking at the Prague Center for Transatlantic Relations on May 4, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the difficulties in the republic's relations with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"There are difficulties in relations between Armenia and the CSTO. Last year, we hosted the CSTO summit, but unfortunately, we were unable to reach a consensus on important decisions. And we have stated our position and our dissatisfaction with the organization," Pashinyan said. According to him, the CSTO could not fulfill its obligations towards Armenia.
Moreover, Pashinyan believes that Armenia should analyze the situation with the CSTO without emotion during the armed escalations on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in 2021 and 2022. He stated this at a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Prague.
"In 2021-2022, we saw the inaction of the CSTO. If possible, without emotions, we must accept this reality, understand what is happening, for what reason, and understand what our reaction to all this should be," the Armenian leader said.
