Pashinyan Unveils New Financial Support Program for Karabakh IDPs

On October 23, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced a new financial support program for internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.
In addition to the previously announced reimbursement for rent and utilities, each resident of the unrecognized republic arriving in Armenia will receive an additional $125 from the state. The exception will be those citizens or members of their families whose bank accounts have balances exceeding a certain threshold, those who live in houses provided by the Armenian government or are under the state's guardianship. Also, in the coming days, discussions will begin on long-term support measures to provide housing for Karabakh residents. These measures will be combined as much as possible with similar programs offered to citizens of Armenia.
"I hope our capable brothers and sisters, forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, will find work in Armenia in the next two months. The government, of course, will support them in every possible way in this matter," Pashinyan assured.
