
Separatist Abkhazia to Receive EUR 349 Million from Russia by 2025

The Russian government approved the ratification of an agreement between Russia and [separatist] Abkhazia on support for the implementation of the state program for the socio-economic development of the region for 2022-2025 for EUR 349 Million.
The funds are provided for the modernization of the energy system, the development of tourism and industry, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, etc.
The agreement was signed in August 2022. On the Russian side, the document was approved by all relevant departments. Now the document is under consideration in the de-facto administration of the separatist President of Abkhazia.
The agreement will enter into force after ratification by the parties and the exchange of notes between the de-facto Foreign Ministries of Abkhazia and Russia, presumably in December 2022.
