Separatist South Ossetia Plans 56.4% Wage Increase By 2030
On January 22, the unrecognized South Ossetia plans to raise wages by 56.4% under the republic’s state program for socio-economic development through 2030. Dzambolat Tadtayev, the de-facto Acting Prime Minister of the separatist South Ossetia, stated at a meeting on the implementation of the program that the initiative had been formally approved by the South Ossetian parliament on December 30, 2025. He emphasized that the state program consisted of 12 sections and covered a broad range of development priorities for the republic.
Referring to the program’s target indicators, Tadtayev stated that gross domestic product growth was projected to reach 37.3% by 2030. He emphasized that the average monthly nominal wage across the economy was expected to reach 48,799 rubles by 2030, representing a 56.4% increase from the 2024 level of 31,207 rubles, and added that the growth in the state budget’s own tax and non-tax revenues was projected at 39.8%.
