
Shalva Papuashvili: "Georgia is Ahead of 11 EU States in 2023 Economic Freedom Index"

On March 16, Shalva Papuashvili, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, stated that Georgia still holds advanced positions in the world rankings.
Papuashvili said that along with other parameters, Georgia has a higher result than the world average in terms of efficiency of justice. "Georgia still holds advanced positions in the world rankings. In the 2023 index of economic freedom, Georgia is in 35th place, ahead of 11 member states of the European Union and all the candidate countries. According to the report, along with other parameters, Georgia has a higher result than the world average in terms of efficiency of justice," he added.
"This study, as well as the final evaluations of Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova published by the European Commission in January, once again show how unfair it was to refuse to grant candidate status to Georgia," Papuashvili concluded.
