SOCAR Begins Delivering Gas to Hungarian Storage Facilities

On July 28, Peter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary, said that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has begun filling storage facilities in Hungary with its gas.
According to the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, SOCAR has started pumping the first 50 million cubic meters of gas into the storage facilities of the European country.
Notably, SOCAR and Hungarian MVM CEEnergy signed an agreement in Baku on June 2, according to which 100 million cubic meters of gas produced in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea will be supplied to Budapest by the end of this year. It is planned to increase this volume to 1-2 billion cubic meters per year.
