SOCAR to Supply Serbia with Additional 1 Million Cubic Meters of Gas Daily

On September 26, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Srbijagas, Serbia's state-owned natural gas provider, signed a Purchase and Sale Agreement for an additional daily gas supply of 1 million cubic meters, covering the period from November 1, 2024, to April 1, 2025. The agreement was signed during a meeting in Belgrade between Shahbazov and Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, where they discussed expanding energy cooperation.
In addition to the gas agreement, the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on green energy cooperation. The discussions also included Serbia's potential accession to the Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor.
Shahbazov further mentioned that he discussed developing bilateral cooperation with Serbian Economy Minister Adrijana Mesarovic. "We discussed the development of bilateral cooperation with Serbian Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic. We assessed the opportunities for Serbia's accession to the Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor, the construction of a gas power plant, the crude oil supply, and cooperation in gas transit. We also exchanged views on the energy aspect of the Business Forum planned to be held in Azerbaijan in December," the minister's post read.
