
Survey Reveals Diverse Views on Yerevan Council of Elders’ Upcoming Elections

The director of the Gallup International Association in Armenia, Aram Navasardyan, unveiled the results of their most recent survey conducted among residents of Yerevan during a press conference on Wednesday. The survey was conducted in preparation for the upcoming Council of Elders’ elections scheduled for September 17.
According to the survey results mentioned earlier, 9.3% of the respondents expressed their intention to vote for Tigran Avinyan, the candidate from the ruling Civil Contract Party. Hayk Marutyan received support from 3.7% of the respondents, while the opposition "Armenia" bloc garnered 2.8% of the votes. Karen Sargsyan, the candidate of the European Party of Armenia, and Mane Tandilyan of the Country to Live party, received 2.2% of the respondents' support each.
Out of the total respondents, 19.2% indicated that they would not participate in the elections, 11% stated that they would abstain from voting for any candidate, 33.4% were unsure and did not provide an answer, and 5.7% did not respond to this question.
Navasardyan highlighted that when these responses are combined, it becomes evident that approximately 55% of the respondents lack confidence in the possibility of conducting fair elections for the Yerevan Council of Elders.
