
Zelenskyy and Aliyev Meet in Davos to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Discuss Regional Security

On January 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Zelenskyy reiterated his condolences for the victims of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash, emphasizing the importance of holding Russia accountable and uncovering the truth about the incident. President Aliyev provided an update on the ongoing investigation, sharing the findings gathered so far.
The leaders discussed the future development of bilateral relations, with a particular focus on enhancing trade and deepening cooperation in the energy sector.
President Zelenskyy also praised Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s support for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, rehabilitation programs for children affected by Russian aggression, and contributions to humanitarian demining efforts. Furthermore, Azerbaijani companies are playing a key role in Ukraine’s reconstruction and investment initiatives, with Zelenskyy expressing gratitude for Azerbaijan's continued commitment to these projects.
According to the Azerbaijani side, the two leaders also exchanged views on regional security issues, underscoring their mutual interest in fostering stability and addressing shared challenges.
