Alexei Danilov: Georgian Government Seeks to Reclaim Occupied Territory at Cost of Ukrainian People

The Georgian government is seeking to regain control over territories occupied by Russia, but at the cost of the Ukrainian people. At the same time, Georgian authorities are hassling Ukrainian citizen, Mikhail Saakashvili. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexei Danilov, in a TV interview.
“Today I heard a statement from the President of Georgia that we should sign some kind of peace agreement with Russia which would include territories occupied by Russia since 2008. When I spoke to my Georgian brothers in March and asked them to help us and work together, they remained silent and even suggested that I'm meddling in their affairs," said Danilov.
The Secretary reminded that Georgians are still keeping Saakashvili - who is a citizen of Ukraine - in jail. "Now they want to join our victory but don't treat our citizens with respect. We need to remember that Saakashvili is kept in jail without any decent reason," he said. Danilov also noted: “I don’t know what kind of world they live in. On one hand they want reclaim territories using Ukrainian blood while on another hand they mock our citizens - this type of behavior cannot be tolerated."
