On November 3, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the growing importance of artificial intelligence and local military production during his speech at the conference marking the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. During his address, President Aliyev highlighted the rapid global transformation brought about by technological progress, stating, "Artificial intelligence — ten years ago, no one even talked about it; there wasn’t even such a term. Today, it is an inseparable part of countries’ future development". He noted that artificial intelligence had become a key component of Azerbaijan’s economic and technological advancement, adding that "the development of artificial intelligence in Azerbaijan, as well as its application in daily life, the economy, and technological progress, is now a reality". The President further emphasized the importance of scientific contribution to this process, expressing expectations for "the active participation of Azerbaijani scientists in this field".

In his speech, President Aliyev also discussed Azerbaijan’s growing defense industry, stressing the state’s commitment to enhancing national military capabilities. "In the near future, many Azerbaijani companies will likely produce military-grade products of world-class quality," he stated. Aliyev added that "state-level efforts are underway in this direction," noting that Azerbaijan was "significantly expanding its military capabilities through local production and largely meeting its own needs". He concluded by pointing out that the country "already exports military products to many countries".
