
Aliyev will pay visit to Ukraine

On 14 December, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will pay a visit to Ukraine according to the press service of the Ukrainian President.
It is reported that a meeting between Ilham Aliyev and President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelensky will be held in Kyiv on January 14.
According to the report, Zelensky extended the invitation. During his visit to Brussels in December last year, the Ukrainian president met with Ilham Aliyev and invited him to visit Kyiv. The presidents will make a statement to the press at 12:15 CET.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine were established on January 31, 1992. The Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan was opened in 1996, and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine in 1997.
The states signed the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine dated March 16, 2000, and the Declaration on Friendship and Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine dated May 22, 2008.
Ukraine is one of Azerbaijan’s trading partners, accounting for 5.7% of total trade and ranked seventh.
