Recently, there has been no influx of personnel into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs structure. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at a joint meeting of the National Assembly's standing committees, presenting the ministry's fulfillment of the state budget in 2021.

He noted that the Diplomatic School did not accept new students for some time due to the coronavirus pandemic and changes in the leadership of the Foreign Ministry. Mirzoyan also said that a decision was made to acquire the buildings of the Armenian embassies in the state's ownership.

Currently, the buildings of many diplomatic missions are rented. The Foreign Minister noted that the acquisition would be carried out in stages, depending on the priorities and financial capabilities of the state.

Moreover, he said that one of the main tasks of Armenia's foreign policy agenda is unblocking regional transport and economic ties.

Mirzoyan recalled that a tripartite commission was set up on this issue, co-chaired by the vice-premiers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan. Eight meetings were held last year, and infrastructure, border, and customs subgroups were formed within the commission's framework, he said. Mirzoyan stressed that the roads and railways to be opened would remain under the jurisdiction of the countries they pass, adding that there is a common understanding on this issue.
