Armenia Among Top Importers of Indian Defense Products in 2023-2024

According to The Times of India, Armenia, along with the United States and France, ranks among the top importers of Indian defense products for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Over the past four years, Armenia has signed multiple agreements with India to acquire various defense items, including missiles, artillery guns, missile systems, radars, body armor, night vision equipment, and extensive ammunition supplies. Notably, Armenia became the first foreign buyer of India’s domestically developed Akash air defense missiles, with some agreements reportedly established during heightened tensions with Azerbaijan.
Indian defense exports, spanning both public and private sectors, supply a wide range of weapons, ammunition, and components to nearly 100 countries. Exports from the past year alone totaled $2.6 billion.
