Armenia and Türkiye Simplify Visa Rules for Official Passport Holders
Armenia and Türkiye have agreed to simplify visa procedures for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports as part of the ongoing Armenia–Türkiye normalization process, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
According to the announcement, starting from January 1, 2026, diplomatic, special, and service passport holders of both countries will be able to obtain electronic visas free of charge.
The decision was reached within the framework of agreements between the special representatives appointed by Armenia and Türkiye to advance the normalization process. The Foreign Ministry noted that the step is intended to facilitate official contacts and further build confidence between the two sides.
On the occasion of the agreement, Armenia and Türkiye reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the normalization process with the aim of achieving full normalization of relations without preconditions.
