
Armenia Witnesses Record Tourism Growth in 2023

On January 9, Sisian Boghossian, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Armenian Ministry of Economy, reported a significant increase in the number of tourists who visited the republic last year.
The head of the ministry pointed out that a record of 2.3 million tourists visited Armenia in 2023. "Approximately 20% growth occurred in comparison with (pre-pandemic) 2019 and 32% growth in comparison with 2022," Boghossian noted.
50% of tourists came from Russia, 11% from Georgia and 6% from Iran. For the first time, China entered the top ten countries regarding the number of foreign travelers visiting Armenia.
