
Armenian Parliament Awards EU Delegation Head with Medal of Honor

On August 15, Alen Simonyan, the head of the Armenian Parliament, received Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, who is completing her diplomatic mission in the country, the Press Office of the Armenian Parliament reported.
Simonyan expressed his gratitude for the strengthening and deepening of relations with the European Union and the Ambassador’s huge contribution to the sustainable development of Armenia.
"Knowing you and seeing your heartfelt work for our country in establishing democratic institutions, I reaffirm our loyalty to democratic values and our willingness to spare no effort," Alen Simonyan mentioned. He underlined the Ambassador’s direct participation in the programs to support the development of the southern regions of Armenia and strengthen the resistance. In response, Andrea Wiktorin assured that the EU continues to be a primary partner supporting the reform agenda implemented by the Armenian Government.
The deployment of the EU Observation Mission in Armenia, as well as the UN Security Council meeting to be held on August 16 regarding the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, was discussed at the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Simonyan awarded Andrea Wiktorin the Medal of Honor of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia for his significant contribution to strengthening inter-parliamentary friendly ties and developing democracy.
