Association of Armenian Entrepreneurs Head Comments on Armenia-Russia Alliance

On 27 March Samvel Karapetyan, the head of the Tashir group of companies and the Association of Armenian Entrepreneurs, said it was unacceptable to put at risk the centuries-old friendly relations between Russia and Armenia and the partnership relations between the peoples of the two countries.
Karapetyan was commenting on information about the Armenian government's plans to sign Yerevan to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). "Such actions directly threaten Russian-Armenian relations, both in terms of economic and political, military and cultural interaction," Karapetyan added.
"Russia is a leading foreign economic and trade partner, a guarantor of Armenia's security on its borders. Friendly relations between the countries are the backbone of the stability of bilateral relations, and undermining Armenia-Russia alliance relations could become a challenge on the issue of security in Nagorno-Karabakh, where Russian peacekeepers ensure a peaceful life for 120,000 Armenians," he stressed.
