
Azerbaijan and Iran Discuss Military Relations in 3rd Joint Commission Meeting

On September 9, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, met with Major-General Mohammad Ahadi, who was visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Commission, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
According to the information of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, Minister Hasanov spoke about the restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, as well as the operational conditions in the Azerbaijan-Armenia conditional border and the Karabakh economic region.
Major-General Ahadi noted that Azerbaijan-Iran relations are based on ancient historical roots and the importance of mutual visits in terms of expanding friendly neighborly relations.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the development prospects of military cooperation between the two countries and regional security issues.
After the meeting, the 3rd meeting of the "Joint Commission" on cooperation in the military field between the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan and the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces was held at the International Military Cooperation Office. At the meeting, detailed views were exchanged on the expansion of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, the organization of mutual visits of the military representatives of both countries, and other issues.
