
Azerbaijan to Export 1 Billion Cubic Meters of Gas to Romania

On February 3, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Romania's Romgaz company signed an agreement on gas supply from Azerbaijan to Romania in 2023-2024.
"On February 3, within the framework of the 9th meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Consultative Council, an Agreement was signed on the transportation of up to one billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan to Romania in 2023-2024," the State Oil Company reported.
"In addition to expanding the export geography of Azerbaijani gas, the signed documents will make an important contribution to the further strengthening of cooperation between the countries, as well as to Europe's energy security and "green energy" strategy," SOCAR noted.
The contract on gas transportation will be valid from April 1, 2023, to April 1, 2024.
As previously reported by Caucasus Watch, on January 1, Azerbaijan started transporting natural gas to Romania. According to the agreement on the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Romania, 300 million cubic meters of gas will be transferred to this country by April 1.
