Azerbaijan to Launch New Customs Checkpoint on Border with Russia

The customs checkpoint (CCP) "Khanoba" of the Main Customs Department of Azerbaijan, located on the border with Russia, will be put into operation in the coming days. The participation of Azerbaijani and Russian delegations is planned in the opening ceremony.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is designed to facilitate faster transportation of goods along the North-South transport corridor, simplify border procedures, expand Azerbaijan's transit capabilities, in particular, completely eliminate queues that arise on the Azerbaijani-Russian border.
The Khanoba CCI was planned to open by the end of 2022. One of his main missions is to unload the Samur customs post on the border of the two countries. The official commissioning ceremony of the Khanoba customs checkpoint (CCP) on the border between Azerbaijan and Russia will take place on March 24.
Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, and other officials will attend the ceremony. It is expected that the commissioning of the CCP will make it possible to pass an additional thousand trucks per day.
