
Azerbaijani servicemen in Turkey's Efes-2022 multinational drills

The Efes-2022 international drills are taking place in the Turkish city of Izmir, with Azerbaijani personnel taking part, according to the Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan.
As part of the international exercises, the personnel are being trained for shooting with pistols, small arms, and machine guns, according to the ministry.
Furthermore, the tasks of providing first aid to wounded personnel, safe evacuation, and search-and-rescue operations were practiced.
The international drills will run until June 9, and Azerbaijan will be represented by servicemen from the Separate Combined-Arms Army of Nakhchivan and the Naval Forces.
Earlier, Caucasus Watch reported that according to the Defence Ministry, representatives from several nations participating in the Anatolian Phoenix-2022 International Search and Rescue Exercises saw places where flying operations would be carried out. The drill's norms of behaviour, as well as security and other organisational difficulties, were explained to the participants. Flights were done to acquaint the pilots with the region, as well as the interaction and radio contacts amongst helicopters, according to the ministry.
