Bayramov Reaffirms Non-Use of Azerbaijani Territory for Military Operations
On January 29, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, held a telephone conversation with Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran. During the conversation, the ministers discussed the situation surrounding Iran, with Bayramov expressing concern over rising tensions in the region and emphasizing that Azerbaijan had consistently called on all parties to refrain from actions and rhetoric that could destabilize the situation in or around Iran.
Bayramov emphasized that emerging issues should be addressed in line with the norms and principles of international law through dialogue and diplomatic means. He also stated that Azerbaijan would never allow any state to use its airspace or territory to carry out military operations against neighboring Iran or any other country. During the conversation, the ministers exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
