Armenia

Suren Papikyan Congratulates France on National Day

On July 14, Suren Papikyan, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, extended his congratulations to the people and leadership of France on the occasion of its National Day. Papikyan addressed his warm wishes to the friendly people of France, the French leadership, and his counterpart, Sébastien Lecornu, the Minister for the Armed Forces of the French Republic. He expressed his hope for lasting peace, stability, and continued prosperity for France. The Armenian minister also expressed confidence that the close friendship and cooperation between Armenia and France, including in the field of defense, would continue to deepen, thereby contributing to the peace and prosperity of both nations.

Armenia and Poland Discuss Bilateral Defence Cooperation

On July 15, Karen Brutyan, the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, met with Paweł Bejda, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland, in Warsaw. During the meeting, the two officials discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of defence between Armenia and Poland.

Edward Asryan Attends LANDEURO Conference in Germany

On July 14, Edward Asryan, the First Deputy Minister of Defence and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, visited the Federal Republic of Germany at the invitation of the United States European Command to participate in the LANDEURO Conference. During the conference, Lieutenant General Asryan held a working meeting with Pierre Schill, the Chief of Staff of the French Army, where they discussed cooperation between the Armenian and French Armed Forces. Additionally, Asryan engaged in a series of informal discussions with senior military officials from the Land Forces of the United States and various European countries.

Suren Papikyan Meets UK Ambassador

On July 17, Suren Papikyan, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, received John Gallagher, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Armenia, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission. Minister Papikyan expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Gallagher for their joint efforts and the achievements attained within the framework of Armenia–United Kingdom defence cooperation. During the meeting, the parties discussed various issues related to bilateral defence collaboration, as well as matters concerning international and regional security.

Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry Hosts Meeting with NATO Experts

On July 15, the International Military Cooperation Department of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry hosted a working meeting between representatives of the ministry and NATO experts. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the current status and future prospects of Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation. They also discussed progress made within the frameworks of the NATO documents titled "Individually Tailored Partnership Program" and the "Planning and Review Process."

Azerbaijan Hosts Special Forces Meeting with Kazakhstan

On July 17, delegations from the Special Forces of the Defense Ministries of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan convened a bilateral meeting in Azerbaijan to facilitate the exchange of combat experience. During the meeting, the parties conducted an in-depth exchange of views on various topics, including weapons and ammunition, supplies, the organization of units conducting operations against imaginary adversaries, operational procedures, and their enhancement. The Azerbaijani side provided detailed information about domestically produced strike drones. Following the discussions, participants observed a demonstration exercise at the Combined Forces Training Range, showcasing the combat use of weapons and supplies, along with the tactical maneuvers of the units. The event concluded with the presentation of commemorative gifts to the visiting delegates.

Georgia

Georgia to Host Agile Spirit 2025 Multinational Training Exercise

On July 14, the Georgian Defense Ministry announced that the multinational international training exercise "Agile Spirit 2025" will take place in Georgia from July 25 to August 6, marking the twelfth time Georgia has hosted the exercise. Agile Spirit 2025 aims to enhance readiness, interpersonal coordination, and operational capabilities among the defense forces of participating countries.

The training will include headquarters-to-headquarters exercises, a Georgian-American tactical convoy on the Senaki-Vaziani highway, combined combat shooting drills, joint special operations activities, and the validation of the Georgian Defense Forces’ Combat Training Center (CTC). The exercise will be conducted in both Georgia and Turkey and will be jointly led by the Western Command of the Georgian Defense Forces and the US National Guard.

Participating nations include Georgia, the USA, Turkey, Poland, Germany, Italy, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Lithuania, and Ukraine. Additionally, representatives from the Armed Forces of Armenia and Japan will participate.

Agile Spirit 2025 will take place at multiple locations: Krtsanisi, the NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Center, Vaziani Combat Training Center and training ground, Norio Training Area, Mukhrovani, and Senaki, home to the 2nd Infantry Brigade. The exercises will feature armored and air equipment from the Georgian Defense Forces, as well as US Army fighting vehicles, multifunctional UH-60 "Black Hawk" helicopters, and Turkey’s Puma AS332 helicopters. The exercises will commence on July 21 with a joint US-Turkish airborne operation near Adana province in Turkey.
