
Chechnya's Tourism Soars by 103% Amid Rising Domestic Travel in Russia

Data from the study "Sberanalitika" reveals that Russian residents made 115 million domestic tourist trips in the first nine months of this year. This is 25% higher than the figure for the same period in 2022. Residents of Russia have shown particular interest in the regions of the North Caucasus. In 2023, the popularity of travel to the Chechen Federal Republic increased by 103%.
The information noted that the Chechen Federal Republic has restored and reconstructed ancient complexes and all-season resorts in the mountains and on the plains. Many tourist routes have been developed, including hiking, biking, quad, and jeep tours.
According to statistics, only 12% of Russian residents resort to the services of tour operators for domestic tourism. 68% of Russians make trips in pairs or with children, and the rest travel with friends or alone.
